Anya Noble

Equestrian

University of Waikato Hillary Scholar Anya Noble inherited her love for horses at an early age. The former Waikato Diocesan & Otago University student (recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science majoring in neuroscience) has been riding for as long as she can remember, and began competing in dressage at a national level at age 13. By 2015 she began competing in international Grand Prix level competition within New Zealand, and was the first ever young rider in NZ history to win the NZ Young Rider Championship title at Grand Prix level. Her short term goals include representing New Zealand at International Grand Prix competitions in Australia, and she has a long term goal of representing New Zealand at the Olympics and World Equestrian Games. While at Waikato University she will study a Master of Science, focusing on the Microbiology of Manuka trees and whether microorganisms influence the therapeutic properties of Manuka honey.
