Hamish Miller : Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS)
Hamish was the Sports Captain at Bethlehem College and currently studying a Bachelor of Management Studies in 1st year. He has recently returned from the World Junior Lifesaving World Championships held in the Netherlands where he captained the NZ Junior Black Fins. At these championships he placed 3rd in the Board Race, Surf ski race and ironman, 2nd in the Board rescue and Taplin Relay and became the World Champion in the Line Throw event just missing out on the world record by 0.04 seconds. His futures goals are making it in the Nutrigrain professional ironman series and become a World Open Champion.
- New Zealand Development Squad - 12/03/2017
I competed at the New Zealand Surf lifesaveing champs in Christchurch where i won a total of 7 gold medals and 1 bronze. I won individual titles in the surf race, run swim run and the ironman. I also won the Surf teams, ski relay, taplin race and tube rescue. we also got bronze in the board rescue. At the end of the competition I was named in the New Zealand development squad and was the overall top u19 competitor of the competition.
- 2km Australian titles - 01/04/2017
The 2017 Australian Titles in the Gold Coast. Cyclone Debbie hit so we only got to race team events on the first day where I got 8th in the ski relay. There was no more water based racing for the rest of the competition however I entered the u19 2km beach run and won that.
- U19 Ironman Champion - 18/03/2018
Won my 2nd consecutive U19 Ironman Title in tough Gisborne conditions and placed 5th in the Open Ironman a few minutes later.
