Hugo Jones : Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
Christchurch’s Hugo Jones began riding competitively five years ago. After competing at a national level in a wide range of sports, he narrowed his focus in on the track cycling scene and it has since become his passion. Hugo says he enjoys the physical demands of the sport and the feeling of pushing his body to the limits in both training and racing. The most challenging aspect of cycling is the long training hours required, and the sometimes gruelling weather conditions that can occur when training on the road. Having a goal to represent New Zealand on the track demands commitment and hard work, and Hugo says that being a part of the Hillary Scholarship programme will provide the pathway to study, train, and develop his leadership skills. Hugo will be study a Bachelor of Laws at Waikato.
