Achievements

- Superturtle Music Video-01/08/2009
- .I had successfully written, co-directed and co-produced a music video for an Auckland band called "Superturtle". The video garnered a lot of interest and will be screened on C4 (music television). This would be my second film to be screened on national television, and my first music video to be shown on C4. My success as a music video maker is now beginning to be established and this has led to more musicians seeking the opportunity to work with me..
- The Making of: Beat-01/07/2009
- .I was appointed the Director of the Documentary behind "Beat" (the Hillary Scholarship Production). My responsibilities included; attending rehearsals, production meetings and also attending the week long film shoot for Beat. I was also given the opportunity to fulfill the duties of Camera Operator and Assistant Editor during the course of the week long shoot. On the shoot I worked alongside Virginia Pitts, Leon Narbey (Cinematographer for Whale Rider, Perfect Creature, No.2 ...etc), and many other industry professionals..
- Stations of the Cross-04/04/2009
- .I was once again invited to participate on the board of artists for the Stations of the Cross Art Installations this year; an iconic Hamilton event. On the board of artists, I worked with a team to put on a week long art installation showcase that followed the passion of the Christ through modern art works. I wrote, shot, edited and presented a film that was screened at the entrance to the Stations of the Cross. The film gained many good reviews and positive feedback from viewers..
- Best Disqualified film at the 48 Hours Film Festival-01/03/2009
- .Managed to write a short film in the space of 5 hours- and banding together with a group of fellow film/ theater/ design students, we managed to complete an outstanding film in 48 hours. Unfortunately, due to a computer malfunction, we were unable to submit the film. But the judges and organizes reviewed our film "Pandemic" anyway, saying that it was a well crafted, well-written and well executed piece. Besides great reviews on the 48hours film website, the main organizer of the event also dubbed our film "Best Disqualified Film 2009".
- Inspire Program-01/03/2009
- .I applied for and won a place on the Inspire Program. The Inspire Program is a mentoring scholarship aimed at young artists; painters, performers, musicians, film makers... etc. Upon winning the scholarship, I was given the opportunity to attend seminars on goal setting, networking and was also given the chance to develop a mentor-mentee relationship with Fiona Jackson, a New Zealand screenwriter. I've learned so much on this scholarship, and have managed to meet a range of different people from the Hamilton film and art industry..
