Tamina Beveridge

Piano

Tamina Beveridge is currently in her third year studying towards a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Classical Performance (Piano) at the University of Waikato. The former Wellington East Girls’ College student started playing the piano at the age of four. She learnt with the Suzuki method and took up the violin when she was eight. Some of her top achievements include winning the University of Waikato Chamber Music Competition in June 2016, passing the NZMEB Grade 6 theory exam with distinction in 2014, taking first prize in solo piano class age 17-21 at the 2014 Piano Plus Festival, Wellington. Tamina was also awarded her NZMEB Associate Diploma in piano, 2013, and was part of the NZSO National Youth Orchestra in July 2014. Tamina aims to perform as a soloist and as part of chamber music groups as part of the music community in New Zealand and overseas. She aspires to continue with postgraduate study in Germany. At her Wellington college, Tamina was a Tuakana (big sister) for year 10 students and lead the school orchestra. Currently, her roles as an international student mentor on the International Buddy Programme (IBP) and a volunteer usher at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts are among her leadership responsibilities.
