United Youth Orchestra - Winter Concert
19 Jun 2016 3:00 PM
Conductor: Yoshi Tatsumi
Soloist: Joshua Taylor, clarinet
The United Youth Orchestra presents a varied programme of popular pieces in their annual Winter Concert, including Jessel’s Parade of the Wooden Soldiers, a lively Czech Slavonic Dance by Dvorak, and a well-known Mexican waltz Over the Waves, by Rosas. Upcoming clarinettist Joshua Taylor (ATCL) performs the dramatic first movement of Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No. 1. This concerto is considered a gem in the clarinet repertoire, and an impressive feat for a 15-year old. Several other very talented young musicians will impress in the ‘Member’s Solo’ segment of the performance (flute and piano). Come along for a wonderful afternoon of music, inspire your children, and support Hamilton’s young musicians.
