Back with a daring new show, New Zealand singer & recording artist Anna Hawkins is not one to be boxed in, bringing a classical edge to the world of folk and pop. Her unparalleled vocal tone and authentic passion have resonated with a growing audience around the world and have driven her in a brave new direction in 2017 as Anna performs and tours her latest offering 'Bold, Brave & Beautiful.'
Following the success of her previous album 'Divine,' which spent five weeks in the NZ charts, Anna's new show coincides with the release of her latest album 'Bold, Brave & Beautiful' promising fans a colourful new world of music exploring the themes of courage, freedom, vulnerability and fun. On top of her brand new original material the tour will see Anna perform songs from musical giants and personal heroes such as Simon & Garfunkel, Barbra Streisand, Michael Jackson, Shirley Bassey, Leonard Cohen and more.
The concert will feature special guests the 'Waikato Rivertones Chorus' as well as local singer-songwriter Lisa Grace Hawkins performed with Anna's live band.
As a solo artist Anna has toured New Zealand with famed Welsh tenor Paul Potts and performed at the likes of 'Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park’ 'Sunset Symphony' and 'ASB Classical Sparks' in Christchurch. She's also featured in televised events 'Rugby World Cup,' and 'V8 Supercars,' and is a regular performer at festivals around New Zealand including 'TSB Festival of Lights,' 'Katikati Twilight Festival,' 'Auckland Seafood Festival,' 'Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival' and 'Concert in the Orchard' which she's performed at by popular demand 6 times.
Amongst this, Anna has also taken lead roles in several musical theatre shows most recently as 'Christine' in Ken Hill's 'Phantom of the Opera' in Tokyo.
The Waikato Rivertones Chorus are the reigning 2016 NZ Sweet Adelines Chorus Champions. Made up of women from all walks of life and aged 16-70 the dynamic Chorus will entertain with their broad reportoire and infectious energy as they prepare to compete on the international stage in Las Vegas later this year.
Lisa Grace Hawkins is a rising singer/songwriter with a powerhouse voice, knack for witty lyrics and soulful interpretations. She starred as 'Aida' in the show of the same name; tasted success in the Smokefree Rockquest competition; and was selected to record an original song at York St Studios. Most recently Lisa opened for country duo Mae Valley and plans to record her debut album this year.
