"The name Kuijken represent quality. It has become a brand of excellence." Nicole Van Opstal, Radio Klara
Sigiswald Kuijken, internationally recognised as a leader in historical performance practice, founded La Petite Bande in 1972 and the Kuijken String Quartet in 1986; his influence on generations of period instrument performers remains vital and unsurpassed.
His recording of Bach’s solo Sonatas and Partitas was revelatory when it appeared in 1983 and changed forever our understanding of Bach’s violin music.
Kuijken‘s solo performances will be an inspirational, intimate, and unique musical experience.
6.45pm - OPEN STAGE free performance by two local prize-winning groups from this year's national Schools Chamber Music Competition, including The Raysken Trio, who will compete in the finals in Wellington in August. Come early and support our young musicians!
