日本[にほん]では、桜[さくら]はふつう(= usually)公園[こうえん]などで見[み]るものです。ニュージーランドでは、ふつうの家[いえ]の庭[にわ]で桜[さくら]をよく見[み]ます。上[うえ]の写真[しゃしん]もそうです。おもしろい違[ちが]い(= difference)ですね。 この写真[しゃしん]は今週[こんしゅう]、大学[だいがく]に来[く]る途中[とちゅう]に(= on the way to the uni)撮[と]りました。 For me, cherry trees were something we see in a public park. 春の始まり The first day of Spring

9月です。ニュージーランドでは、9月から春[はる]だと考[かんが]えます。テレビのニュースなどでも9月1日に「今日[きょう]から春[はる]です」というようなコメントを聞[き]きます。実際[じっさい]はまだまだ寒[さむ]いんですけど(ハミルトンの今日の最高気温[さいこうきおん]は16度[ど]です)。 It is September now. People think that Spring begins in September in New Zealand; although it is quite cold… (the highest in Hamilton today is 16 degrees). We often hear something like "it's Spring from today" in TV news on the 1st of September.
