Research Interests:

Lisa's research interests include; animation, visual music, animated documentary, cultural memory and audience studies. While these have emerged as distinct interests, Lisa is now locating creative/critical intersections that enable her to participate in practice-based research. One such juncture has led to an exploration of cultural and sensory memory in relation to visual music and music video.

Lisa is also a practicing filmmaker, currently completing the post-production of her stop-motion puppet-animated film 'animaScope'.

Lisa holds a PhD in Screen and Media Studies. Her PhD thesis focused on documentary and cultural memory, specifically in relation to the cultural and discursive struggle associated with processes of decolonisation and nation-building in Aotearoa New Zealand.
