Fernery - Below R Block, Gate 9

Significantly assisted by donations from the McKenzie Fern Trust, Mr John Fraundorfer, and the Waikato Fern Club, a fernery was developed on the south boundary of the campus and opened by the Hon Simon Upton, Minister of the Environment in December 1998.

There are 75 species of ferns represented at present, which are labelled. The aim is to be able to grow all of New Zealand's fern species in the fernery. The fernery contains three ponds and a walkway.
