Major Capital Works Planning

This function is carried out by the University's Capital Asset Committee (CAC) which meets on a regular basis to determine annual budgetary limits and prioritise projects for recommendation to the Vice-Chancellor. The CAC is an advisory committee to the Vice-Chancellor.

The membership and terms of reference of the group can be seen in the Directory of Committees and Rules of Procedure effective from 2003.

Note: Link Capital Asset Committee (CAC) to the terms of reference in "Directory of Committees and Rules of Procedure" which can be found under SASD.

Major Works

These are defined as new work or alterations exceeding $100,000 (excluding GST). Projects to be proceeded with each year are determined by the Capital Asset Committee (CAC) according to priority and within overall annual funding constraints.

Once approval in principle has been given, the planning and implementation of building works is carried out by the Campus Development section of Facilities Management Division on consultation with appropriate user group representatives. The contact person is the Campus Development Manager.

To contact us please refer to Campus Development Staff Contact.

Minor Capital Works Planning

This function is the responsibility of the Campus Development Manager.

To contact us please refer to Campus Development Staff Contact.

Minor Works

These are defined as new work or alterations not exceeding $100,000 (excluding GST). All work requests, whether Division, Faculty or Departmentally funded or centrally funded, should be referred through the appropriate Division/Faculty building representative to the Director of Facilities Management Division.

Once approval in principle has been given, the planning and implementation of building works is carried out by the Campus Development section of Facilities Management Division in consultation with appropriate user group representatives. The contact person is the Campus Development Manager.

Minor alteration works less than $5,000 are carried out by either the Campus Development team or the Maintenance section, but in either case the contact is the Campus Development Manager.
