This function is carried out by the University's Capital Development Committee (CDC) which meets on a regular basis to determine annual budgetary limits and prioritise projects for recommendation to the Vice-Chancellor. The CDC is an advisory committee to the Vice-Chancellor. The membership and terms of reference of the group can be seen in the Directory of Committees and Rules of Procedure effective from 2003. These are defined as new work or alterations exceeding $100,000 (excluding GST). Projects to be proceeded with each year are determined by the Capital Development Committee (CDC) according to priority and within overall annual funding constraints. Once approval in principle has been given, the planning and implementation of building works is carried out by the Capital Works section of Facilities Management Division on consultation with appropriate user group representatives. All work requests, whether Division, Faculty or Departmentally funded or centrally funded, should be referred through the appropriate Division/Faculty building representative to John Cameron, Head of Facilities Management Division.
