Graduate One-day Global Studies Conference

24 November 2012

At this conference, post-graduate, graduate, undergraduate and potential students from all areas of study presented on an aspect of their scholarship and engaged in lively dialogues with one another. Following the presentations, Professor Michael A. Peters lead a workshop 'Writing for Publication' with contributions from Professor Tina Besley, Carl Mika and Dr. Jayne White. Apart from being a fantastic opportunity to create new networks and support groups of like-minded people, the event aimed to:

  1. To develop a graduate research culture and national network of postgraduates
  2. To foster critical scholarship in social theory and global studies
  3. To introduce new and exciting postgraduate opportunities

Next year the conference is planned to also involve postgraduate students from Tainui and Te Whare Wananga o Awanuiarangi.

Selected works are to be published in Policy Futures in Education with the students as editors.

Further information available on the website.
