UniCash

UniCash is the term used for money that is put on a student's account to allow printing and photocopying. Student must have a positive UniCash balance to carry out these functions.

Adding Credit to Your Card

Students who wish to add money to their UniCash account must visit the following web site: https://payments.its.waikato.ac.nz and follow the instructions.

On this web site you can use your credit/debit card or a bank account capable of internet banking (we suggest one of the major banks). If you switch from using your card to online banking you need to make sure you clear/refresh the browser first - you can't leave it half done as it could cause issues.

If you close your browser too soon during this process your UniCash account may not be credited for up to 15 minutes.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have just received you ID card you will need to wait about 20 minutes before you can add CASH to your UniCash account (this does not apply to online credits to UniCash).

Checking You UniCash Balance

You can check your UniCash balance here or via iWaikato, MyWeb or EdLinked or by double clicking on the UniCash application in the desktop tray (bottom left on the desktop). These systems display the current balance as well as the history of transactions.

UniCash Refunds

The University can not give refunds on UniCash balances. Students are advised to place only small amounts on their card at a time. Any unused balance will be deleted after 2 years.

Do You Need Help?

If you are in the Student Centre, you can visit the front desk on level 2, or use one of the support phones in the east wing lab (just inside the door where the computers are). Press 1 and an IT staff member will come and assist you.

Otherwise you can call the ITS Service Desk on 4008, or email them on help@waikato.ac.nz (normal business hours apply).

The University has provided a Self Service tool through which you can log your own tickets (jobs). You can also search for a previously logged ticket to check it's status. For urgent jobs you can phone the ITS Service Desk: ext 4008 (838 4008) for support.
