Configure Eduroam for Android
Staff Wireless Network - Android Instructions
Go to your devices Main Menu and open Settings
Tap the Wireless & Networks link. Later Versions of Android have these two settings separate. In this instance tap Wireless:
Tap the eduroam entry
Set Phase 2 Authentication to MSCHAPv2
Set the Identity and Anonymous Identity to your firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com if you are a student. Set the password field to be your University of Waikato password.
Then tap the connect button
Wi-Fi should say that is Connecting to eduroam. If it goes back to scanning, you've either entered the wrong password or wrong username
The device should then acquire an IP address from the eduroam service.
When the device is up and connected to the service, it should say "Connected to eduroam".
Tap on the eduroam network to see the network details associated with the connection. This is useful information for the helpdesk when trying to sort out problems. You are successfully connected when the IP address starts with 130.217.X.X as all university networks begin with these two numbers.
Log Your Own Ticket
The University has provided a Self Service tool through which you can log your own tickets (jobs). You can also search for a previously logged ticket to check it's status. For urgent jobs you can phone the ITS Service Desk: ext 4008 (838 4008) for support.
