Configure UOW Students for Android
Tap the Settings button on the main screen of the device, or from within the Main Menu of your device. Please note that the screenshots below may not match as each android device is different. However the setup steps will be the same for all Android devices.
The Wi-Fi menu should come up automatically, otherwise select it and tap the UOW Students entry:
Set the options to be like this (below), and the Identity to be your email@example.com. If you do not include the @waikato.ac.nz the wireless will fail to authenticate and you will not be logged in
Set the password to be your Waikato University password. Tap the Connect button to connect.
Wi-Fi should say that it is connecting to UOW Students. If it goes back to scanning you've either entered the wrong username or wrong password.
The device should then acquire an IP address from the UOW Students network and show that it is connected.
Tapping on the UOW Students brings up the details about the connection, useful for diagnosing problems when talking to the Service Desk.
Log Your Own Ticket
The University has provided a Self Service tool through which you can log your own tickets (jobs). You can also search for a previously logged ticket to check it's status. For urgent jobs you can phone the ITS Service Desk: ext 4008 (838 4008) for support.
