Staff ID Cards
Activating/Registering Your ID Card
Staff ID Cards are issued by Human Resources Department at the request of your department administrator. Once you have had an ID card issued to you you can register the ID card to your account from any of the Konica Minolta printers on campus. To register your card:
- Swipe your card across the reader on the printer
- When prompted, enter your Username and Password into the device. Note: This is just your username and not your full email address
- The card will then be registered to your account.
It may take up to 20 minutes to fully register in the system before you can use the swipe function to print/photocopy from these machines.
If there are errors in registering your card, please contact the ITS Service Desk or log a ticket through our Self Service Portal to investigate the cause of the error.
After Hours & Building Access
Staff are provided with Building access by requesting the access through your Administrator or Manager within your department. All access to buildings is controlled through our Security team at UniSafe and must be authorized by a Manager. A Manager must request the cards activation through the online Cardax Access Form located on the Facilities website. You can find a link to the form through iWaikato > Common Tasks > Cardax Card Access and an email will be sent out to your Staff Email address with the PIN required for access.
Staff are able to access the buildings after hours by swiping their card at the card readers located to the side of the doors and entering your PIN. If you cannot recall the PIN for your card and cannot locate the email, you will need to contact UniSafe on ext 4444 to request the PIN to be resent. ITS Service Desk are not authorized to provide PINs for ID Cards.
Faulty, Damaged or Lost ID Cards
Staff ID Cards can be replaced if they are faulty, get lost or are damaged through any reason. Staff members must ask their Administrator or Manager to request a replacement card through the HR department. HR must be phoned to book an appoinment to replace the ID Cards. A fee of $15.00 is charged to the department account code the Manager provides when requesting the card activation through the online Cardax Access Form
A new PIN for the new card will be sent out to your Staff Email account once the card has been activated.
Log Your Own Ticket
The University has provided a Self Service tool through which you can log your own tickets (jobs). You can also search for a previously logged ticket to check it's status. For urgent jobs you can phone the ITS Service Desk: ext 4008 (838 4008) for support.
