Casper the UoW Mobile Device Management Tool

The University has standardised on Casper as our management tool for all mobile devices, both iOS and Androids. The few remaining users on Airwatch will be transferred over to Casper before the end of 2016.

A Mobile Device Management (MDM) tool like Casper provides device security and allows the user to self provision prepackaged applications.

Install an Application

Self provisioning applications is just a matter of clicking the Casper icon on your enrolled device and selecting the application you want to use. A download will then be initiated to make the application available to you.

Enrol Your Device

You can enrol a personal device into Casper by visiting https://casper-mdm.its.waikato.ac.nz:8443/enroll

All UoW owned devices should already be in Casper as part of the purchase and initial setup process.

Remove Device

To remove your personal device from Casper please contact the ITS Service Desk.

Support

Both the security option and the application prepackaging is managed by the ICT support teams. Log a job with the Service Desk (details below)

LD Self ServiceLog Your Own Ticket

The University has provided a Self Service tool through which you can log your own tickets (jobs). You can also search for a previously logged ticket to check it's status. For urgent jobs you can phone the ITS Service Desk: ext 4008 (838 4008) for support.
