Equipment

Loan Equipment

The Service Desk offers equipment to staff and students of the University of Waikato. This equipment is available for course assignments or research. Please familiarize yourself with our Equipment Loan Policy and watch the Equipment Tutorial Videos for instructions on using the equipment and to ensure you are using it correctly.

SDHC Memory Cards

Important notes for users of ITS loan pool equipment (on signage by counter)

The Following equipment is supplied with SDHC Memory cards already installed:

  • Canon DSLR cameras  
  • HandyCam Video Cameras  
  • Tascam Audio recorders

No SD Cards are supplied with the HD Video cameras (AC90 and HMC152) as users are responsible for their own media  

16GB SDHC cards may be purchased for $17.00 Each (incl GST)

DO NOT REMOVE SDHC CARDS FROM EQUIPMENT SUPPLIED WITH THEM
Such equipment is supplied with USB Leads for downloading files – removing the card frequently causes card problems.

If equipment is returned with missing SDHC Cards, the hirer will be immediately charged for a replacement SD Card ($17.00) No exceptions – even if “just to download footage”.

LD Self ServiceLog Your Own Ticket

The University has provided a Self Service tool through which you can log your own tickets (jobs). You can also search for a previously logged ticket to check it's status. For urgent jobs you can phone the ITS Service Desk: ext 4008 (838 4008) for support.
