The painting by Gayle Maddigan

Gayle Maddigan was raised among her people at Red Cliffs (Vic.) and studied art at La Trobe University. She is actively concerned with Aboriginal rights. She was winner of the Heritage Commission Award (1993) the Inaugural Botany Aboriginal Art Award for landscape (1993) and runner-up for the NATSIAA and NIHAA - Open Section (1994). She has participated in many solo and group exhibitions in Australia, the USA and UK. Her work is held in both private and public collections
