Professor Peter Spiller's present legal interests lie in the New Zealand court system. He has published books on New Zealand legal history, the New Zealand Court of Appeal, dispute resolution and Disputes Tribunals.

He is a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and is the Principal Disputes Referee of the New Zealand Disputes Tribunals.
