Myra is a member of Berens River First Nation, Manitoba (Canada) and mother of four. After running a successful agri-business for two decades, she returned to school and completed her JD in 2013. Now as a LLM student at the University of Manitoba, she is researching Aboriginal taxation and treaty implementation. Her work as a Mamawipawin research fellow with Dr Kiera Ladner in Indigenous constitutional inclusion expands on this study to better understand the effects of colonization and means to move forward.
