Library Teams

The information below outlines the roles of the Library teams. For contact information, please refer to Contact Us or for individual staff contact details, see Library Departments and Staff.

Information Services Team

The Information Services Team provides face-to-face and online point-of-need reference and information services in both the Education and Central Libraries. The Team organises the Library orientation for new students, and throughout the year provides information literacy tutorials for students in undergraduate and bridging courses to enable them to make better use of the Library and its information resources.


Digital Repository Team

The Digital Research Repository Team administers Research Commons, the University of Waikato’s institutional repository. They are responsible for depositing the University’s research outputs (published papers, theses and data) in the repository. They also provide advice on copyright and publishing issues relating to deposit in Research Commons.


Lending Services Team

The Lending Services Team help with all procedures related to Library membership, borrowing, recalling or reserving items, library fines, fees and general enquiries. In addition, Lending manage Course Reserves.


Law Library Team

The Law Library Team provides point-of-need reference and information services, tours, seminars and tutorials covering Law resources and databases. The team also offers individual assistance to University of Waikato staff and students with finding information for study and research. It is also responsible for the selection, management and promotion of resources for the Law Library collections..


Monographs Team

The Monographs Team is responsible for the ordering, receiving, cataloguing and processing of all monographic materials (i.e. everything other than serials).


New Zealand Collection Team

The New Zealand Collection Team is responsible for the selection, management and promotion of resources that are held in the New Zealand Collection. They provide point of need reference services, tutorials and individual assistance to University of Waikato staff and students to help them access and use New Zealand Collection resources.


Serials and Electronic Resources Team

The Serials and Electronic Resources Team is responsible for orders, cancellations, payments and processing of print and electronic serials and databases, and for maintaining and reporting serials financial information. They also manage the inter-library loan and document delivery services, the Library's website and digitisation projects.

Shelving Team

The Shelving Team shelves books and other Library materials, checks that books are placed correctly on the shelves and ensures the overall tidy appearance of the library.


Subject Librarians Team

Subject Librarians offer specialist, individual assistance with finding information for your study and research.

Technology Support Services Team

The Technology Support Services Team is responsible for the maintenance of the Library computing hardware and software, including the library information management system (Voyager) and the technical maintenance of the photocopiers and printers.
