The East Wing is expected to be complete in time for Christmas. The interior scaffolding has gone and the stairs are in, the painters are about to move out and the carpet is being laid. We had our final tour a couple of weeks ago and the comments were definitely favourable.

The atrium creates an atmosphere of height, light and space which will be seen to its full advantage when the building is in use and the water feature is operational. It is very impressive.

The books with call numbers starting with Z have been moved from the far end of Level 1 to the stacks immediately to the left when entering the book collection on Level 1.  We are making space for Fletcher Construction to erect hoardings at the south end of each level of the Library at the end of January 2010.
