Three-legged Library...

The SW corner of the building is being supported by a 240 ton jack while one of the columns is lengthened to support the second lift shaft. Now the steel framework is in place and the jack is holding up the building, the base of the column will be removed this week.

Lots of bumps and thuds this week while FCC complete the demolition work on Lev 3.  Work on the south elevation is progressing with glass being installed.

The next decanting period is due to start on September 20.  This one will involve the movement of collections and the clearance of Lev 4. The General Collection moves to its permanent position on Lev 3 and the Law Library moves temporaily to Lev. 1. Shelving for the General Collection will be assembled starting August 24.
