How to search for DVDs and videocassettes in the Library Catalogue.

How to search the Library Catalogue

You may search for films using the Catalogue the same way as you search for books.

How to search by title

•  type the title in the search box, leaving out the a, an or the, (or any foreign language equivalents) if the title starts with these words,
•  select Title begins with from the Search by menu and 
•  limit your search by selecting Videos/DVDs from the Limit To menu.

 How to search by author

• type the director's or actor's family name,
• select Author from the Search by menu and 
• do not limit your search - ensure that nothing is selected on the Limit To menu.

How to search by keyword

• Using a simple keyword search, type the keywords of the genre required, e.g. detective
• Include the phrase "motion picture" and "feature films", e.g. detective "motion picture"
• Select DVDs/Videos from the Limit To menu

Note: Use the Advanced Search to choose a language option, e.g. French
