The Michael King Collection
19 May 2015
Michael King, one of New Zealand's foremost historians, died tragically in a car accident in 2004. Michael had close ties with Hamilton and the University of Waikato having worked for the Waikato Times and having gained his M.A. and Ph.D. at this university. He was also commissioned to write a history of the University, which he was doing when he died.
His family has now generously offered part of Michael's own personal library to the University Library to supplement the material held in the New Zealand Collection. The 600 plus books are located on the open shelves on Level 4 of the Student Centre.
