Elsevier have advised us that access to ScienceDirect journals has been restored.

Summer Holidays
The Library will be closed for the summer on the 16th of December 2011 and will open again on the 4th of January 2012. See Library Hours 2011/2012 for further opening hours.
Library Staff Award
Congratulations to Library staff for receiving the University's Administrative Excellence Award for 2011. The award was presented to University Librarian Ross Hallett by the Vice Chancellor at the end of a university staff celebration to mark the rededication of the Student Centre.
Student Centre Te Manawa Rededication Ceremony

Library Hours - Please note changes

Food and Drinks Vending Machines
The vending machines have been moved. Drinks machines are now on the Level 2 balcony and in the computer area on Level 4. Food machines are in the computer area on Level 3.
New Digital Collection
The Library is proud to announce the launch of our latest digital collection The British Parliamentary Papers. Colonies: New Zealand.
This collection contains digitised despatches and reports relating to New Zealand from selected volumes of the British Parliamentary Papers. This project was supported by a grant from DigitalNZ.
After Hours Returns
Books can be returned to the After Hours slot at the end of the Student Centre Foyer, near the Lift.
Remember Education library books can also be returned to the Central Library and vice versa. However there is no after hours return in Education unless you have swipe card access to the 24 hour Education computer labs, in which case books can be returned through the slot in the foyer, just outside the Library entrance.

The "Green Guide" online
The New Zealand Collection of the University of Waikato Library's Green Guide is now available as a web document.
Produced for over twenty five years to assist students attending courses in New Zealand History, it aims to introduce different aspects of New Zealand life and history.
The core of the Guide is made up of definitive (and timeless) works to which are added a selection of new titles which represent the latest research, trends and opinions.
Group room bookings now available
The Level 2 and Level 4 group study rooms, M2.02, M2.03, M4.03, M4.04 and M4.05 are now available for booking

Journal access problems resolved
The previous journal access problems have now been resolved. Please contact the Library if you're still experiencing problems.
Journal access
We're currently experiencing problems with access to online journals through the e-Journals portal, Library Search and Find@Waikato. Please use the Library Catalogue or Databases to access online journals until this issue is resolved. We apologise for the inconvenience this is causing.
Forgotten your password?
Change your own password - go to Password Changer direct or find it under Quick Links on the Student start page
A new password will be sent to your cellphone by txt and you will be able to change this yourself to your chosen password
The Library is now on Facebook. "Like" us to receive updates about upcoming events and find links to essential library and university resources
Use the wall or discussion forums to ask us questions or give us feedback and you can post pictures to the wall too
Access to the Library/Student Centre
The new entrance ramp on the Hillcrest Road side of the Student Centre is now open. If coming from the lakes (Knighton Road) side
use the signposted Library walkway to reach Level 1. Follow the directional signs to use the lift from Level 1 to Level 2 (entrance level)
New Zealand Collection
The New Zealand Collection in the East Wing on Level 4 is still open, and the information desk is staffed as usual. Go via the lift or the central stairs
Level 3 books
The main book collection has been moved to Level 3 and is now open for browsing
Digital Thesis Deposits
Digital copies of theses completed at the University of Waikato must now be deposited into the University's institutional repository, the Research Commons. Full instructions here
ADT (Australian Digital Thesis Program) databases will be phased out shortly but theses previously deposited into ADT, including those deposited this week, have already been moved to Research Commons.
Quiet study space outside the Library
S1.01 is available from 9.00-5.00 for quiet study
