Literacy and Information Literacy

A+ Research & Writing for high school and college students
This excellent and comprehensive site provides a step by step guide to completing research assignments. It's strength lies in the broad scope of the guide. Emphasis is placed on the various stages such as getting started, choosing a topic as well as finding and gathering information in preparation for writing.

Assessment Resource Bank
You can search the banks to select assessment material to match your teaching objectives for mathematics, science, or English. The ARBs have been classified to match the structure and terminology of the New Zealand curriculum statements in mathematics, science, and English. Resources in the banks cover curriculum levels 2 to 6 for science and 2 to 5 for mathematics and English. For further information see How are the resources classified?

English On-Line
Programme to enhance the delivery of the English Curriculum in schools, with links to web resources about teaching English. An ongoing English professional development contract between UNITEC Institute of Technology and the New Zealand Ministry of Education. In 1998 and 1999 it involved 100 primary and secondary schools per year. Each school nominated a lead teacher who undertook an Internet tutorial, and then developed a unit of learning which was posted on the site as a permanent resource for New Zealand (and international) English teachers.
