Alumni of the University of Waikato may join the Library at a cost of $100 per year. This includes borrowing and access to a set of Library databases specifically licensed for Alumni use. See Database Access for a list of available databases.
Borrowing from the Library
On confirmation of Alumni status and payment of the membership fee at the Library Service Desk on Level 2 of the Student Centre, you will be issued with a membership card that allows you to borrow books and other library materials as follows:
- Book limit - 10 books
- Loan period - 1 month
- Fines of 30 cents per day apply to overdue items.
- All items are subject to recall. Recall and Short Term Loan overdue fines are $3.00 per day
- Items are renewable unless required by another borrower
- Alumni members may not recall items
- All borrowing must be done in person. No email or telephone requests are accepted
The Alumni Office will issue you with a username/password login that will provide access to the following databases:
Please allow 48 hours for database access to be enabled.
If you are not in Hamilton and wish to access only the Library databases, please email the Library membership team at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange payment so that your account can be set up.
Having Trouble Accessing the Databases?
Alumni members may only access the databases available to them from the list above.
If you are working from behind a firewall, e.g. from within a company network, port 2248 must be open to allow access. Your network administrator will be able to help.
If there is an issue with your username/password, please contact the Alumni Office.
Most databases have in-built help and tutorials - please try this first. During our core business hours (Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.) an Information Services Librarian is available to help via Library Chat.
