Library Txt Messaging Service

The Library can send SMS notifications (txt messages) to let you know that you have:
- Items available to pick up
- Overdue Items
- Items that have been recalled from you
- Overdue recalled items
- Fines and fees
- Advance notice that some items will be due for return or renewal (Courtesy Notices)
The txt messages will be automated and one way; txt replies cannot be received. And you will need to register in order to use the service.
Terms and Conditions
- Due to the uncertainty of txt messaging, the Library cannot guarantee that you will successfully receive the txt messages.
- Txts can only be sent to mobile phones on the Vodafone, Telecom or Two Degrees networks in New Zealand. 021, 022 or 027 numbers only.
- This service is for undergraduates, postgraduates and staff of Waikato University only.
- The mobile phone must be in New Zealand at the time the message is sent in order to receive it.
- Privacy: Waikato University uses an external SMS service for txt messages. Sign up with this service authorises the library to provide your mobile number to the SMS broadcasting service. We have been assured this information will be kept confidential. However, Waikato University cannot be held responsible for the security of the message sent to you.
