Library materials not held in the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Libraries
The University of Waikato Library provides a request service for materials not held by the BOP Polytechnic Libraries. Delivery to the Bongard and Windermere Libraries should normally be within 2-4 working days unless the requested items are already on loan and therefore have first to be recalled. (The catalogue indicates whether an item is available or on loan).
Making item requests to the University of Waikato Library
First, check the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Library Catalogue to ensure that the required item is not held in the Bongard of Windermere Library.
Next, check the University of Waikato Library Catalogue. Find the item you want, click on the "Request Item" tab, and follow instructions to place a hold on the item/s you want. (You will need to log in to place a request).
Requested items will be sent to either the Bongard or Windermere Library, where they will be held for collection. Remember to select either of these locations as your collection point from the drop-down menu.
Note:
- It is not possible for the University of Waikato Library to supply books or journal articles requested only by topic of subject.
- University of Waikato Course Reserve items cannot be supplied to Tauranga students or staff.
Supply of items
Items are normally issued for one month, and must be returned to either Windermere or Bongard Library by the due date printed on the receipt. You are expected to collect items from the Bongard or Windermere Library and to return them there.
Renewing items on loan
Items not required by other Library users may be renewed online - select My Account from the Library catalogue page and log in to obtain a record of what is issued to you. Follow the instructions to renew items.
All books are subject to recall if required by other Library users
Recall, overdue and other Library notices will be emailed or texted from the University of Waikato Library directly to you. Recalled items must be returned immediately either to the Bongard or Windermere Library, from where they will be returned to the University of Waikato Library. All transport charges will be borne by the University of Waikato Library.
