Staff + Student LoginServices for Students of Other New Zealand Universities
Staff and students of New Zealand universities are eligible to borrow, in person, from any other member university library under University Library Aotearoa New Zealand (ULANZ), a national borrowing scheme for the following New Zealand's universities:
- Auckland University of Technology
- Lincoln University
- Massey University
- University of Canterbury
- University of Otago
- University of Waikato
- Victoria University of Wellington.
NB: The University of Auckland is not a participant in this scheme.
Borrowing Information
ULANZ registration can be done at the Library Reception & Enquiries Desk on Level 2 of the Student Centre during opening hours. Please present your current staff or student ID card. Bring photographic proof of identity if your institution ID card does not include a photo. We will register you as a borrower at the University of Waikato using your home institution ID card. ULANZ borrower cards expire on 28/02/2012 or when a borrower ceases to be a current student or staff member at their ULANZ member university (whichever is sooner).
There is no fee associated with ULANZ registration.
You will be able to borrow up to 10 books or CD-ROMS. The loan period is one month, subject to recall if required by University of Waikato staff and students. Fines for late return of recalled items is $3.00 per day.
Restrictions:
- No access to Course Reserve material
- Material on loan may be reserved but not recalled
- No access to electronic resources which do not permit walk-in access in their licences
- Audio-visual material may be used in the Library only, but not borrowed.
- Print journals may be used in the Library only, but not borrowed, and articles copied within the provisions of the Copyright Act

AV Facilities
You may use the AV facilities when they are not booked by University of Waikato staff or students. ULANZ borrowers may not place bookings.
Photocopying Facilities
A coin operated photocopier is available on level 2 of the Central Library, or, for large amounts of copying or to pay by eftpos there is a card available at the Lending desk.
Interloans
Interlibrary loan, document delivery and distance services are the responsibility of your home library.
