WISE: Using indexes and journal databases

A journal index:

lists journal articles by subject, and sometimes by author
covers a specific topic area or discipline
saves time in browsing through each journal issue for articles
is increasingly in electronic format
often includes an abstract (summary of article) in addition to the citation

In this module, we are referring to journal databases when we use the term databases.
