WISE: Keyword Boolean search
| To find items on a particular topic: |
- enter the chosen keywords or phrases joined by the Boolean connectors
(AND/OR/NOT) in the 1. Search for box
- select Keyword Boolean (AND/OR/NOT) in the
2. Search by box
- select a limit in the 3. Quick Limit box,
if appropriate
- click on the grey Search button

A great advantage of keyword searching is the ability to combine more than
one keyword in a search. To do this effectively, there are a number of techniques
(using Boolean connectors, nesting and truncation) that need to be understood
and used. These are explained and demonstrated in the Search Strategies
Module, so this example is brief.
