MAI ki Waikato

E ngā waka, e ngā mana, e ngā reo, nei ra mātou o MAI ki Waikato e mihi nei.
Ko ta mātou kaupapa, he awhina i ngā tauira tohu pairangi, pairua hoki.
Nā reira whakapiripiri mai, whakatatatata mai, nau mai haere mai ki MAI ki Waikato!

MAI meetings are open to all Māori students living in the Waikato region who are enrolled or interested in enrolling in a doctoral programme. Enrolment can be at any institution - this forum is not exclusive to Waikato University students. MAI ki Waikato is funded by Ngā Pae o Te Māramatanga, based at the University of Auckland, and is one of six sites around New Zealand contracted to provide workshops, seminars, mentoring, and support for Māori doctoral students. The other sites are located in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Otago - visit the Te Kupenga o MAI website.

The purpose of MAI ki Waikato is threefold:

  • to provide a supportive network for Māori PhD candidates;
  • to hold monthly workshops that are relevant and meaningful to PhD studies:
  • to link PhD candidates (and prospective PhD candidates!) with opportunities such as the national doctoral writing retreat and the Māori doctoral conference.
