What will business look like in 2025? Three experts will discuss this issue at a public event being held at the University of Waikato on 30 October.
Waikato Business 2025: economic, environment, social is a free event and features Management Communication Professor Juliet Roper, whose research encompasses social and environmental aspects of sustainability, including cross sector engagement, public relations, influences on public policy, government and corporate approaches to sustainability and social responsibility.
She is joined by Deloitte New Zealand's Corporate Social Responsibility manager Xavier Black – who has ten years' experience designing, evaluating and implementing social impact programmes – and Tama Potaka, Tainui Group Holdings corporate services manager.
Mr Potaka is from Ngāti Hauiti, Whanganui and Taranaki, and has strong connections to Ngāti Tūwharetoa and Ngāti Raukawa. Prior to joining Tainui Group Holdings, Mr Potaka was a senior solicitor at Bell Gully. He has worked as an attorney in the USA, and in a variety of governance, consultancy, research and legal roles in New Zealand.
Waikato Chamber of Commerce chief executive William Durning will moderate the discussion.
The panel discussion is hosted by the University of Waikato and held in conjunction with the Waikato Chamber of Commerce, Waikato Regional Council and the Sustainable Business Network.
It takes place at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts at the University of Waikato from 10am to 11am on Friday, 30 October.
