Groups and Study Tours (International)
About our programmes:
- customised programmes for groups that combine English with almost any other activity
- programmes last from 2 weeks
- minimum of 10 students required, must be at least 16 years old
Groups and Study Tours programmes are held in both Hamilton and Tauranga.
Examples of Group programmes include the following:
English plus Specialised Training | English and NZ Life and Culture | English with a University Focus | English and International Business
English plus Specialised Training
- English plus a customised course based on any of the degree programmes at the University of Waikato, such as: English language teacher training, Science and Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Education, Business Management, E-commerce.
- English Language Teacher Training for overseas groups or individuals.
English and NZ Life and Culture
- English language tuition and a choice of activities such as: weekend trips to Rotorua, Waitomo Caves, Whakapapa or Turoa Ski Fields (winter only) or the Bay of Islands, horse riding, jet boating, kayaking, hot pools, farm visits, black water rafting, indoor rock climbing and many more .
- Websites can be created with photographs of students doing activities.

English with a University Focus
- English language tuition combined with activities that give students an experience of life at the University of Waikato (Hamilton and Tauranga campuses).
- activities include meeting University of Waikato (Hamilton and Tauranga campuses) students and staff, and attending university lectures.
English and International Business
- English language tuition combined with lectures on international business at the University of Waikato Management School (the number one business and management school in NZ).
- students produce a report on an aspect of international business that interests them, and give a small presentation.
- ideal for 1st or 2nd year university students who want to improve their English.
- available in January and July. Students must have an upper intermediate level of English or above.
