- Through an agent: the University of Waikato has many representatives around the world who are authorized to act on our behalf. These agents will have either a certificate of representation or an agreement signed by us - please ask to see this. Agents can advise you on programmes and help you enrol. Many students like to use agents to assist them with the Student Visa process.
- If you are accepted, you/your agent will receive an offer of place and an invoice within approximately 10 days.
- Take the offer of place, invoice and any other necessary documents to the Immigration New Zealand (INZ - at the nearest New Zealand Embassy or New Zealand Consulate office if there is no Embassy) to apply for a visa. Full details of visa requirements, advice on rights to employment in New Zealand while studying, and reporting requirements are available through the INZ, and can be viewed on their website at http://www.immigration.govt.nz
- Visa applications can take up to 6 months (in China) or less, depending on the country you apply in. You/your agent will receive an "approved in principle" letter from INZ.
- Pay the amount shown on the invoice to the University of Waikato.
- Your place will be confirmed in a course and you/your agent will receive a receipt from the University of Waikato.
