About Us

The Scholarships Office is the University of Waikato's central administrative office concerned with scholarships for New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.

This office maintains a database for scholarships administered by and relevant to study at The University of Waikato. It provides advice to prospective and enrolled students, liaises with and advises Faculty/School/department administrators and academic staff, provides professional advice to the Scholarships Committee and keeps and manages appropriate records.

SCHOLARSHIPS COMMITTEE

The Scholarships Committee oversees the University of Waikato scholarship regulations and selection procedures and the process by which all scholarships are administered by the Scholarships Office.

EXECUTIVE DECISION

The chairperson of the Scholarships Committee, assisted by the Scholarships staff, meets weekly to resolve matters clearly covered by policy developed by the Committee. Matters for which there are no policies or precedents, or other matters that the chairperson considers need discussion, will be submitted to a meeting of the Scholarships Committee for resolution.
