D.V. Bryant Trust University of Waikato Residential Scholarship

Closing : 04 Apr 2014
Level : Entrance
Value : Up to $5000

The D. V. Bryant Trust established Bryant Hall on land leased from the University of Waikato in 1971, as a hall of residence for students of the region who were attending the University. Since its inception, Bryant Hall has provided a supportive residential environment for first-year students and has also provided accommodation for a smaller number of senior undergraduate and graduate students who provide tutorial assistance and develop community activities to enrich the academic, cultural and social life of the Hall. From 2004, Bryant Hall has been owned and operated by The University of Waikato, but the commitment of the D. V. Bryant Trust to providing opportunities for the academic development of students in the Waikato region continues in the form of the D.V. Bryant Trust University of Waikato Residential Scholarships. These Scholarships were offered for the first time in 2003 for students commencing study in 2004 at The University of Waikato and seeking to live in a University hall of residence on campus. The Scholarships are designed to assist those who have proven academic potential, whose financial circumstances are severely constrained or for whom there are other special circumstances which would make such an experience a significant means of enhancing their academic success. A number of Scholarships are offered each year.
