A very warm welcome to Development Studies which provides a dynamic environment in teaching and research in Indigenous, Māori and Pacific development. This focus has been in response to the needs and opportunities within Māoridom, Pacific communities and other indigenous groups for highly competent and skilled people to determine and undertake development initiatives to meet their own needs.
The mission of the Development Studies Programme in line with the School's strategic vision is to become an internationally recognised centre of excellence and innovation in teaching, research, consultation and information about indigenous development within a world-wide network of similar institutions, all working in close partnership with indigenous peoples themselves. We do hope that you will enjoy the diverse learning opportunities provided through our undergraduate and graduate programs and most importantly of all to develop a skills and competency base that will help you make a difference in your chosen field of development.
