Scholarship Information
Te Pua Wānanga ki te Ao offer a number of Scholarships each year:
Te Tohu Paetahi Entrance
This Scholarship is to assist candidates selected for the first year of the Te Tohu Paetahi programme at the University of Waikato campuses in Hamilton to undertake full-time study. Candidates for the Scholarship must be citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand. The value of the Scholarships in 2011 is up to $4,000 that will contribute the domestic Tuition and Resource Fees payable to the University of Waikato in respect of the successful applicants' programme of study. The maximum tenure of the scholarships will be one year. Scholarships may only be taken up in the year for which they are offered.
Te Pua Wānanga Undergraduate Excellence Awards
This Scholarship is to assist students to undertake full-time study at any level, towards a Bachelor's degree in the School of Māori and Pacific Development. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, personal character and involvement in cultural, academic and community life. The value of the scholarships in 2011 will be $1,000. The maximum tenure of the scholarships will be one year.
Te Pua Wānanga ki te Ao Graduate and Postgraduate Excellence Awards
These Awards were established in 2000 to affirm and encourage excellence in students undertaking study at graduate and postgraduate level within the School of Māori and Pacific Development. Tenable for one year, up to the value of $2,000 at Graduate level and up to the value of $5,000 at Postgraduate level (PhD, MPhil).
