Just got back from watching the opening ceremonies and first game of the Rugby World Cup!

I am cheap. I have limited money and I want to save it for experiences that I can only get while I am in New Zealand. Since I have decided to live this way, rather than catching the bus I tend to walk. Everywhere. Since I have picked up this habit I have discovered something . . . Hamilton is so much more than a foggy place with crazy drivers!
Lately I’ve been focusing a lot on school. I wasn’t sure how I would adapt to a new education style, but it hasn’t been too bad! I’ve been getting used to going to tutorials, doing lots of reading and finding a balance between travelling and school. Sounds hard, but I’ve already been here for six weeks, and it felt like just one.
A weekend trip to Raglan! We were called crazy for traveling to Raglan in the winter, but the weather reminded me of a warm spring day in Oregon. This little surfing town was cheerful, scenic, and reasonably priced!
Hello! My name is Amy and I am a third year from Mililani, Hawaiʻi pursuing degrees in Primary Teaching and Intercultural Communications at Linfield College in Oregon. This being my first and possibly only time in New Zealand, I am planning to explore both the North and South Island. Sitting and waiting to depart from the Honolulu airport I was so excited but also very nervous about living in a new country. From the moment I stepped on board the Air New Zealand plane and watched the Richard Simmons' safety video, I knew that I had chosen the right place to study abroad.
