Intellectual property

Intellectual property relates to original works of authorship, technology, products, processes, designs, plant varieties, goodwill and trademarks. Learn more about the University's policy on intellectual property and how that might affect you.

Embargoing a thesis

The University believes that research theses should be available for public inspection. In unusual situations, however, theses contain material that — for commercial or security reasons — should be withheld from the public.

Ethical approval

Research involving human research subjects, animals or genetically modified organisms and sensitive documents must meet many ethical and legal requirements. Learn more about the standards pertaining to your research.

Appeals and complaints

Doctoral or Master of Philosophy students who wish to appeal a decision by the Postgraduate Research Committee may do so through the Higher Degree Appeals and Complaints Regulations.
