COMP103 - 17A (HAM), 17A (SEC), 17B (HAM) & 17C (NET)
This paper introduces computer programming in C# - the exciting challenge of creating software and designing artificial worlds within the computer. It also covers concepts such as the internals of the home computer, the history and future of computers, cyber security, computer gaming, databases, mobile computing and current research and challenges in computer science.
Internal assessment/examination ratio: 2:1 or 1:2, whichever is more favourable for the student, 17A (SEC) 1:0 & 17C (NET) 1:0
Note: This paper is prerequisite for a major in Computer Science. The practical programme must be completed to the satisfaction of the Convenor. The SEC occurrence is available to Unistart students only. With the permission of the Chairperson of Computer Science or nominee, students not at secondary school may be permitted to take the SEC occurrence.
