Voice Performance

Originally from Belgium, soprano June Dams has lived in New Zealand for 16 years. Currently she is completing a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree under the tutulage of Dame Malvina Major, June holds an Master of Music in Voice Performance and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Theatre Studies and Composition (First Class Honours, University of Waikato).

In 2013 she completed a Vocal Apprenticeship Program at the Astoria Music Festival (Oregon, USA). She is a recipient of a University of Waikato Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship, winner of the University of Waikato Aria and the Waikato Young Performer of the Year Award (2009).

June has most recently played the lead role of the diva Carlotta Giudicelli in The Phantom of the Opera at The Civic Theatre in Auckland.
