All new Māori students are encouraged to attend Māori Info Day where current staff and students will be able to give you as much information as possible on being a Māori student at the University of Waikato. Register with your Māori Mentoring Unit and receive a free 2014 Māori @ Waikato Diary. There will also be a special guest appearance from the 2013 Homai te Pakipaki winner, Wiz Tokelau.

Te Puna Tautoko literally means, ‘The support source’ and supporting Māori students throughout their endeavours here at Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato is our main priority. Te Puna Tautoko encompasses a diverse network of specialist Māori suport staff from across the University who are all committed to ensuring your success here and beyond.
This website enables you to access the many services on offer to support you during your studies. MĀORI MENTORING UNITS
Our Māori mentoring units are dedicated to improving Māori student achievement here at Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato. Within each unit you will find friendly mentors who are current students and know all about the struggles and successes of student life. They are here to help you achieve academically throughout your studies here at the University of Waikato. They focus on Pastoral, Procedural and Academic support which basically includes anything and everything. You might have relationship issues with your flatmate, need assistance with re-enrolment or advice about your upcoming assignment. If they can’t help you themselves they will guide you towards someone who can. Our mentors would love to help you so please don’t be shy, come in and see us or email us.
