MĀORI GRADUATE ASPIRATIONS

The Te Toi o Matariki Māori Graduate Excellence Programme presents the Māori Graduate Presentation Day. Come and join our Masters students in a day of research presentations and graduate pathways workshops. Engage in Masters research from across the University and listen to what’s involved in Masters and PhD research from our student and staff panels.

Date: 10th October 2017

Where: Te Whare Tapere Iti, Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts, The University of Waikato

Time: 9.30am - 3pm

  • Masters Student Presentation: Presentations from Masters students who have completed the research component of their degree begins the day. Come and listen to our top Māori students discuss a wide range of kaupapa. These students are a representation of the level of commitment and work associated with Master’s research.
  • Research Poster Presentations: Te Toi o Matariki Māori Graduate Excellence programme are offering Master’s students the opportunity to present their research in the form of a poster. All Master’s students are encouraged to submit a poster for this competition and we welcome students who are at any stage of the research process. If you are interested in submitting a poster please complete this form POSTER INTEREST. Prizes include $500 for the supreme, community contribution and people’s choice awards plus more. More details about the poster competition will be forwarded to those who are interested.
  • Workshops - Masters and PhD Journeys and Expectations:  Workshops will be held for all students who are interested in pathways into Masters or PhD degrees. There are two workshops which will provide Master’s and PhD experiences and information from our expert staff and student panels. We encourage all students to participate in these workshops.
  • Scholarship Presentation: With the University Scholarships coming up at the end of October this is the ideal time to get a good understanding around scholarship requirements and the application process. The university scholarships office will talk about up and coming opportunities and how you can best craft your application for these future prospects.
