Teaching Development empowers staff to fulfill Waikato University's commitment to excellence in higher learning. Through our work with staff we are uniquely placed to build on current tertiary teaching research, identify trends, best practice and gaps in the University's provision of higher learning.

We aim to help staff to develop the competencies, skills and pedagogical knowledge that they need to provide high quality teaching. In addition, we aim to foster reflective practice skills so that academic teachers become equipped to improve their own practice. Through this work with staff we aim to enhance organisational capacity and capability in relation to quality teaching and learning.
